The Director of Talent Management will help set the vision and execute the strategy to ensure the establishment of structures and processes focused on organizational strategy, training, culture, branding and creation and maintenance of united creative teams. The incumbent will develop and maintain effective retention, promotion, team building and employee growth programs.

Responsibilities

• Create a strategic talent management plan that balances artist experience and operational factors to retain and grow employees.

• Cultivate a studio environment that empowers and inspires employees to thrive personally and professionally.

• Take responsibility for the development and implementation of programs such as learning, growth, development, engagement, mentoring and onboarding / leaving employees.

• Develop a metrics and data-driven approach to monitor the operational success of these programs.

• Directly manage department managers and the training department to improve all aspects of collective art and individual professional development.

• Participate in organizational strategic planning.

• Collaborate with department managers and production management, and ensure that each team member takes full advantage of their potential through strategic and timely management of staff working on multiple projects, transitions, recruiting and studio hours.

• Maintain strong relationships with department supervisors.

• Work in partnership with IT and HR on an ongoing basis to create a productive and enjoyable work environment.

• Manage the maintenance and execution of the performance management system, including current job descriptions, performance standards and performance appraisal instruments.

• Cultivate a positive, welcoming, inclusive and fair work environment that allows employees to feel connected to the company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.

• At least 8 years of experience in talent management, or equivalent knowledge in talent development or human resources business partnership. Experience in an animation production environment an asset.

• Experience working in a fast-paced environment, and experience working directly with all levels of management, ideally within a media outlet or similar company.

• Ability to manage a small essential team of senior executives.

• Proven skills in designing talent management solutions.

• High level coaching and consulting skills.

• Excellent leadership skills.

• Ability to exercise judgment in matters of a sensitive or confidential nature.

• Superior oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to work independently.

• Demonstrated ability to adapt to change.

• Work with the Department Managers and Production Management and ensure each crew member is utilized to their full potential through the strategic and timely management of multi-show staffing, transitions, recruiting and studio time.

• Maintain strong relationships with department supervisors.

• Work in partnership with IT and HR on a continuous basis to create a productive and enjoyable work environment.

• Manage the maintenance and execution of the performance management system, including current job descriptions, standards of performance and performance evaluation instruments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.

• 8 years experience in Talent Management or equivalent knowledge in Talent Development or HR Business Partnership. Experience in Animation production environment a plus.

• Experience in a fast-paced environment, working directly with all levels of management and ideally experience working in a media or similar organization.

• Ability to manage a small but key senior team.

• Demonstrated skills in designing Talent Management solutions.

• High level coaching and consultative skills.

• Excellent leadership skills.
