Illumination is in search of an experienced Recruiter to bring joy and discovery to talent around the globe and, to be a partner to multiple business leaders and their teams across our corporate and production functions. The ideal person has experience with animation and/or entertainment hiring practices, will be responsible for developing sourcing plans and executing recruitment strategies, is a graceful ambassador, has a good eye for artistic and creative talent, sees the big picture and thrives in an entrepreneurial environment.  The Recruiter will work closely with the VP, Talent Recruitment, Hiring leaders, Production Supervisors and our HR partners.    


  • Manage full-cycle recruiting processes, from initial reviewing of resumes and screening of applicants, to coordinating in-person interviews with the hiring manager or production leads 
  • Work closely with the hiring managers or production leads to develop a strategy and approach to achieve results which may include upgrading job description(s), social/posting strategy, follow-through and execution 
  • Serve as key point of contact throughout the process from interviewing, reference checking, negotiating offers and ensuring a smooth on-boarding handoff 
  • Drive the recruitment process through support in interview guidelines, feedback, planning and debrief sessions as required
  • Bring new voices, new perspectives and insights to further an inclusive environment 
  • Represent and act as an Ambassador in outreach opportunities around the globe at schools, expos and exclusive Illumination events  
  • Build relationships and pipelines through engagement of active and passive talent using a varied array of tools and resources 
  • Drive internal/external recruiting tools and social media platforms to promote and share open opportunities internally/externally 
  • Maintain and execute clean data in our APT system to produce detailed reporting around recruiting metrics and industry benchmarks 
  • Other duties as needed


  • 1-3 years’ progressive experience in recruitment, with responsibility for full cycle recruitment 
  • Animation production and/or Entertainment experience preferred 
  • Proven ability to evaluate candidate portfolios and/or resumes with a discerning eye and results 
  • Experience in full-cycle recruitment, university relations, and employment branding  
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills that include the ability to influence, guide and excite internal and external partners, in all types and levels of information 
  • Thrives on innovation, experimentation with social, promotion and sourcing techniques 
  • Enjoys problem solving in a fast-paced and changing environment with curiosity, humor and grace 
  • Strong client relationship, negotiations, and consulting/influencing skills 
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, FileMaker Pro, Airtable and Social platforms 
  • Experience in Lever or other APT talent systems 
  • Ability to travel globally for recruiting events as needed 
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
